Amazon's Labor Day Sale Closes Tonight, With a Memory-Cost Baseline Shift on Device Deals

Memory and storage costs tied to AI demand are the operating condition that resets the baseline for Amazon's 2026 Labor Day sale.

On August 21, Amazon raised prices on its Echo, Kindle, Fire TV, and eero hardware lines by as much as 60%, attributing the increase to that cost spike, in a move first reported by Fortune.

Discounted to $189.99 tonight, it sits $60 below the new $249.99 list price and $30 below what the device sold for at launch. The entry-level Echo Dot moved from $49.99 to $79.99 in August.
