The Atlanta Braves defeated the Philadelphia Phillies in a three-game wild card series to advance to the National League Division Series against the Los Angeles Dodgers.
The decisive victory in game three, played at Truist Park, followed a split in the first two contests that featured late-inning heroics and defensive errors.
In the opening game, the Braves overcame a 3-2 deficit in the bottom of the eighth inning when Austin Riley hit a home run to take a 5-3 lead. Raisel Iglesias recorded the save, giving Atlanta a 1-0 series advantage.
The Phillies took control in game two after a defensive misplay by Bryce Harper in the seventh inning allowed a run to score and set up another on a sacrifice fly.
