Josh Brolin has described the current state of the "Sicario" franchise as "untouchable" as the third installment moves forward with Steven Knight writing the script.
The development resolves earlier conflicting reports about whether series creator Taylor Sheridan would return to write the film, confirming that Knight will handle the writing duties instead.
Brolin, who portrays CIA operator Matt Graver, is set to return for the third movie alongside Benicio Del Toro.
Emily Blunt will also rejoin the cast, marking her return to the franchise after appearing in the 2015 original but not the sequel.
