Cisco reported booming demand in exactly that segment. When guidance is not enough Cisco delivered an earnings beat alongside guidance that came in stronger than analysts expected.
That combination, in most market environments, is a clean outcome. In this one, it was not sufficient.
The gap between what happened and what investors required is a function of where AI infrastructure stocks have been priced.
