Courtney Love, 62, revealed this week via Instagram that she suffered a severe health collapse beginning in 2019 in England, spending extended periods hospitalized, losing her hair, and dropping to roughly 100 pounds while doctors told her she would not survive.
The disclosure accompanies news of a forthcoming album, her first since Hole's 2010 release "Nobody's Daughter," which she said she began writing and recording largely while still hospitalized, operating under the assumption it would be her last work.
She described the onset as abrupt: she went to England in 2019 and her body, in her phrasing, "just exploded." She said she recovered after refusing to accept the prognosis.
