Jacob Fields, a safety who transferred to TCU from Louisiana Tech, turned himself in to the Tarrant County Sheriff's Office on Sunday on a charge of aggravated assault causing serious bodily injury, stemming from an alleged altercation inside the Horned Frogs' locker room.
He was released later that afternoon. Court records link the incident to an alleged confrontation involving Fields and TCU wide receiver Dozie Ezukanma.
The Fort Worth Star-Telegram first reported the locker room altercation. TCU dismissed Fields from the program for violating team rules.
He had arrived at TCU from Louisiana Tech, where he was named Conference USA Defensive Player of the Year last season. The legal proceedings Fields's attorney, Cory Dubose, raised a procedural concern after the hearing.
