Gen Z Republican tells Dallas convention to fix housing or lose the midterms

The first midterm political convention in American history is scheduled at American Airlines Center in Dallas, and Gen Z Republican commentator Brilyn Hollyhand is arguing the GOP has one primetime window to make a credible case to young voters before Election Day on November 3.

The opening, Hollyhand writes, is real: young men already moved toward the GOP in 2024, and housing is the number-one issue for that cohort. Hollyhand, who identifies as Gen Z, frames the stakes without hedging.

The Democratic opposition has moved to a platform that, in Hollyhand's account, includes a new constitution, public ownership of the economy, and abolition of the United States Senate.

President Trump has characterized Democratic Socialists of America members as communists.
