Judd Nelson photographed in West Hollywood, forty years after the Brat Pack label stuck

Judd Nelson, the 66-year-old actor best known for his 1985 role in "The Breakfast Club," made a rare public appearance in West Hollywood this week, looking considerably changed from his 1980s image.

Long hair and a full beard, covered by either a gray baseball cap or a black helmet depending on the moment, defined the outing.

He was riding a motorcycle fitted with yellow rims and yellow accents, dressed in camo pants, a red and blue flannel shirt, a long black coat, and black sunglasses.

The label that never quite fit The photographs renewed attention on Nelson's long-running discomfort with the Brat Pack designation, the cultural shorthand that attached to a cluster of young 1980s actors after writer David Blum applied it in a June 1985 New York Magazine piece.
