Matt Gogel handed six-month suspension by PGA Tour for betting on Tour events

The PGA Tour's integrity program carries one absolute prohibition: a player may not wager on any PGA-sanctioned competition, whether or not they are in the field.

Matt Gogel, competing on the PGA Tour Champions senior circuit at age 55 and currently 20th in the Charles Schwab Cup points race, was found in violation of that rule.

The Tour suspended him six months, effective Sunday, with the ban running through Feb.

Gogel released a statement saying the bets were "small recreational wagers on golf" placed in 2024 and that he did not knowingly cross the line.
