Rx Kids, which has disbursed more than $300 million in taxpayer funds across Michigan, was built without those filters, and Michigan House Speaker Matt Hall told Fox News Digital that lawmakers believed they were funding a prenatal health initiative when the program launched in Flint in 2024.
What the program actually pays The payment structure is straightforward: a $1,500 lump sum during pregnancy, then $500 per month after the child is born. Recipients face no income verification and no legal-status check.
Hall's office provided committee testimony in which program officials acknowledged payments had reached individuals not legally present in the United States.
