The hard constraint in deploying an image generation model at social-media scale is distribution: reaching the audience already on a platform, rather than the narrower slice willing to seek out a standalone tool.
Meta's first image model since Mark Zuckerberg reorganized the company's artificial intelligence priorities, called Muse Spark Image, addresses that constraint directly, with integration planned for the company's AI chatbot and for Instagram.
Where this sits in the consumer stack Image generation at this layer is a pipeline: a prompt enters, a model runs iterative sampling to produce output, and that output lands in whichever surface the user is already in.
