Netflix has officially ordered an Untold documentary titled "Untold: Wide Deceiver" to investigate the $1.3 million romance scam perpetrated by Daejon Love, a 35-year-old man who impersonated a San Francisco 49ers wide receiver.
The film will center on the mechanics of Love's deception and include interviews with the women who were defrauded by his false identity.
Federal prosecutors allege that Love and his 18-year-old accomplice, Taylor Jamie Chan, utilized dating platforms including Tinder, Bumble, Hinge, and Facebook Dating to target victims across California, Oregon, and Washington.
To sustain the illusion of an active NFL career, Love staged elaborate fake workouts, filming himself running routes on public beaches while wearing a replica 49ers helmet.
