One Raven raises $5M to put smart home intelligence on-device

The constraint in consumer IoT has always been the same: processing lives in the cloud, which means every command crosses a third-party server before your light turns on.

One Raven, a Phoenix-based startup, launched July 7 with $5 million in seed funding led by Fifth Wall, building bespoke hardware and software that routes nothing to external servers.

Your device authenticates with a manufacturer server, state is stored remotely, and the system breaks when the vendor kills the service or the connection drops.
