A new open-source command line tool called RemoveMacAI deletes Apple Intelligence data from Macs. The tool emerged after Apple removed the single Settings toggle used to disable the AI features in macOS 27.
Previously, users could turn off the functionality with one switch. Now, the models remain on the disk, and the features are split across different settings panes.
RemoveMacAI performs the task that the old toggle handled by deleting the models and turning the features off.
A developer for the tool explained in a Reddit post that users previously had to find about a dozen settings, with several located under Screen Time.
