SpaceX plans $100 billion Starbase LA in Louisiana's Vermillion Parish

The ceiling on orbital launch cadence is almost never the rocket: it is the ground.

Pad turnaround, propellant loading throughput, range control availability, and vehicle integration flow all converge to set a single output figure, and that figure determines how many missions a site can support in a year.

SpaceX's plan to build Starbase LA in Vermillion Parish, Louisiana, at a reported cost of $100 billion, addresses that bottleneck at a scale the commercial launch industry has not previously attempted.

SpaceX says the facility is intended to support thousands of launches annually. That target has no modern equivalent in orbital spaceflight. Current high-cadence programs measure annual output in dozens of missions.
