World Money super app brings stablecoins, self-custody, and Stripe to World's identity network

The constraint in consumer crypto has always been identity: getting compliant financial rails onto a wallet without a custodian holding the keys.

World's new World Money app takes a run at that problem by pairing self-custody with World ID verification, using the latter to gate a tiered reward structure built on top of stablecoin accounts.

Where the stack connects Self-custody is the architectural choice that defines the product. Users hold their own keys, which means World Money sits outside the custodial model that most fintech wallets rely on.

The tradeoff for that design is integration complexity: the app has to reach across to established payment and DeFi infrastructure rather than routing through an internal ledger.
