Apple has announced a new iPad Mini featuring an 8.5-inch OLED display. The company revealed the device just days before its "Pro and tell" event scheduled for Wednesday. The new model starts at $699 for the Wi-Fi-only configuration.
Beyond the display upgrade, the iPad Mini incorporates an A20 Pro chip. This hardware enables support for specific Apple Siri AI features, including the ability to adjust the expressiveness and pace of the assistant's voice. The device also positions its 12MP front-facing camera on the long edge, a design choice intended to facilitate video calls in landscape orientation. This release follows the 7th-generation iPad Mini that Apple launched in 2024.
