Satoshi Ishida, a programmer at Capcom, stated that the studio is moving toward "successfully integrating AI technology into development workflows" to address the time-consuming nature of producing games at the scale of Resident Evil. Ishida presented this strategy during a talk titled "The Outlook and Future of the REX Project, Further Evolving the RE Engine for the Next Generation" at the Capcom Open Conference RE: 2026. The presentation highlighted that current production methods make even simple tasks extremely time consuming for studios working on large-scale titles. This approach follows earlier statements from Capcom that it would not use AI in its processes. The shift aligns with the themes of the studio's upcoming title, Pragmata, which focuses on the dangers of artificial intelligence, despite the company's practical adoption of the technology for internal development.
