Mercedes-AMG has introduced the 2028 Mercedes-AMG GT SUV, an electric vehicle delivering over 1,150 horsepower that marks the first full-size SUV developed entirely in-house by the performance brand. The vehicle is built on the high-performance AMG.EA architecture, a platform designed to combine sports-car handling with the utility of a larger body. This new model follows the GT four-door coupe, a souped-up sports sedan released earlier this year that also utilizes three axial flux motors to achieve similar power levels. With this launch, the brand concludes a 59-year history without a ground-up, in-house full-size SUV. The Mercedes-AMG GT SUV is scheduled to arrive in the United States next summer.
