The clan layer is the retention engine in mobile strategy gaming. Clash of Clans, the Supercell title with more than 2 billion downloads, has built its player base on that mechanic across at least a decade of operation, and it is precisely how the game first acquired a cohort of WWE talent. The second WWE crossover inside Clash of Clans converts that history into its central event mechanic: the "Search for Cena" asks the global player base to locate John Cena's base, raid it, and post a three-star result. The event runs through September 30.
The origin of the OLK
Cody Rhodes told OutKick Dropkick that Cena was the one who pulled fellow WWE talent into the game during road trips, eventually forming a clan called the O'Leary Klan (OLK). The group's tolerance for his leadership eventually ran out. Rhodes described two patterns that drove the decision: heavy reliance on gemming, and a habit of posting "99% one-star" raids that left each base's town hall standing. In Clash of Clans, the town hall is the decisive target; leaving it intact caps the raid's contribution to clan performance. Rhodes compared it to an NFL team that runs nothing but field goals without scoring a touchdown. After the boot, Rhodes and others formed the Nicky Clan, which still operates today.
Cena's version of events places the sequence differently. In a press release tied to the campaign, he said the rivalry began when he out-raided Rhodes and Rhodes removed him from the team.
What the event adds to the game
Rhodes returns as the "Barbarian King" hero character, a role introduced in the first crossover, now updated with a sunglasses variant and new in-game music. The full hero roster for this campaign spans six wrestlers: Rhodes as "Barbarian King," Alexa Bliss as "Archer Queen," The Undertaker as "Grand Warden" (his second appearance in that role), Iyo Sky as "Royal Champion," Jey Uso as "Minion Prince," and Kane as "Dragon Duke." Shawn Michaels appears in associated promotional content as a veteran Clash player.
Rhodes told OutKick Dropkick that he personally recruited the Undertaker into the collaboration by text. The event closes September 30.
