Yelp and Delta Air Lines are blocking autonomous AI agents from accessing their platforms, a move that complicates the promise of seamless internet navigation by artificial intelligence. While OpenAI, Meta, Google, and Instinct market agents capable of booking reservations and managing inboxes, these services face increasing resistance from major websites. In recent weeks, people using tools like Meta's Muse, xAI's Grok, OpenAI's Dots, and Instinct have encountered obstacles that stop these automated programs from completing jobs on leading sites.

Yelp told TechCrunch that it only allows AI agents that pay for its data licensing program. Delta Air Lines is preventing them from booking tickets. These restrictions highlight a growing friction between AI developers who claim their tools can scour the internet on a user's behalf and website operators who are closing their doors to automated access.
