Agents arrested a suspected co-conspirator of the ShinyHunters hacking group earlier this week, according to FBI Director Kash Patel.
The detention is the latest in a series of actions by the bureau against the network, which Patel said investigators believe is responsible for a recent cybersecurity incident on the FBIjobs.gov platform.
In an October 9 statement, Patel noted that the incident occurred on a system managed by a third-party vendor. He stated that agents are currently pursuing additional leads and evidence in the case.
Patel said the FBI is collaborating with partners to dismantle the group and its associates.
