Tatjana Genrich, the former Miss Germany, will make her professional boxing debut on the November 14 fight card for SES Boxing. The 33-year-old model announced the development on Tuesday, marking her transition from amateur competition to the professional circuit.
Genrich has a background in the sport that predates her pageant success. German outlet Bild reports that she was an amateur state champion in the flyweight division for three consecutive years from 2007 to 2009. She stated that her early interest in boxing began after she was bullied at school and wanted to fight back.
Her path to the professional ring was interrupted by a career in modeling and pageants. In 2022, she was crowned Miss Germany and also took home the "Best in Swimsuit" award and the "Miss Intercontinental Europe" crown at the Miss Intercontinental pageant. After these events, she was approached by SES Boxing regarding a return to the ring, as the promotion was aware of her past achievements. She currently sponsors ring girls for SES Boxing events.
For her upcoming professional fight, Genrich is training under coach Dirk Dzemski. Dzemski previously helped train Robert Stieglitz, a former German boxer who held two reigns as WBO super-middleweight champion. Genrich is working in the gym five days a week to prepare for an opponent who has not yet been named.
She described her training regimen as intense but enjoyable, noting that she works up a good sweat. Genrich said she wants to be a role model for young women, demonstrating that it is possible to be successful in both a career and sports. According to Bild, her ultimate goal is to become a world champion.
