Kenan "Ken" Urker, the 34-year-old partner of Gypsy Rose Blanchard, was found dead inside his Louisiana home on Thursday, the Lafourche Parish Sheriff's Office confirmed. The death came after loved ones requested a welfare check following Urker's absence from work. According to an incident report, Anita Blanchard, who is Gypsy Rose Blanchard's half-sister, and her husband went to the residence and spotted Urker lying unconscious from an outside window. A man accompanying them entered through a window and found Urker not breathing and cold to the touch. Deputies noted that Urker appeared to have been in that state for an extended period of time. The sheriff's office stated there are "no signs of foul play," though the case remains under investigation. If the circumstances change or significant updates emerge, the office said it would issue a new statement. Investigators recovered syringes and a spoon next to a brown powdery substance in the bathroom. A handgun, two shot glasses, and a syringe were also found on a nightstand next to the bed. Anita Blanchard told authorities that Urker had attended church with them the previous evening around 8:45 p.m., where he mentioned feeling depressed and upset. Deputies recorded that Urker made a TikTok live video at approximately 11 p.m., which he kept running while driving without speaking. Urker had more than 36,000 followers on the platform. Thursday marked Urker's 34th birthday. Gypsy Rose Blanchard was sentenced to 10 years in prison in 2016 for second-degree murder for her role in the fatal stabbing of her mother, Clauddine "Dee Dee" Blanchard. Her then-boyfriend Nicholas Godejohn received life in prison without parole for the killing, which inspired the 2019 Hulu series "The Act." Blanchard was released on parole in December 2023 after serving 85% of her sentence. The couple first became engaged in 2018 while Blanchard was incarcerated, but they later separated. They reunited following her first marriage and gave birth to their daughter, Aurora, on Dec. 28, 2024. In a statement to PEOPLE, Blanchard expressed her belief that Urker died from a drug overdose. She added that she does not know if the act was intentional, noting that he had not been in a good state of mind recently. On Friday, Blanchard shared a photo of Urker on Instagram, writing, "You will always be my greatest love story. You will be remembered and loved forever." She also detailed his struggle with cyberbullying in an Instagram Story, noting that he endured relentless harassment on social media platforms including TikTok and Reddit. "The cruelty directed toward him was something no human being should have to endure," she wrote. "I believe the tremendous weight of that scrutiny and harassment had a profound impact on him." Blanchard added that she would ensure their daughter knows how deeply her father loved her and who he was beyond the opinions of strangers online. The post reached her one million followers and garnered nearly 100,000 likes within hours.
