Kip Moore released a new song titled "The Wolf" for the second season of the series "The Terminal List," which premiered on Oct. 21. The track is the first new music from the country artist to accompany the show, which stars Chris Pratt as Navy SEAL James Reece.

Moore announced the release on Instagram, explaining that the project began in January 2024 during a surf trip in Central America. He stated that Jared Shaw called him to ask if he had read scripts for season two and would consider writing a song for the main character. At the time, Moore had not yet watched the first season, which aired in 2022, but he subsequently watched it and began reading the new scripts.

The second season is based on Jack Carr's book "True Believer." The series follows Reece on a hunt for revenge. Moore described his interest in the subject matter as a fascination with the world of special operations and respect for the training and sacrifices involved. He noted that while reading the scripts, he was drawn to a note from Shaw that read: "It's like the battle between two wolves."

Moore said that phrase stayed with him and influenced the song's direction. He explained that he wanted to explore the complex, human side of these experiences rather than simply celebrating heroism. His goal was to examine the internal battles and the toll such experiences can take on a person's mind and spirit. He stated that he tried to put himself in the character's shoes to write from that perspective, exploring what Reece might be wrestling with on a deeper level. That process is where "The Wolf" came from.

The song is available for listening, and Moore invited listeners to share their thoughts with David Hookstead at OutKick. Hookstead noted that OutKick has many fans of both country music and action series, making this collaboration a convergence of those interests.
