Leon Slater will challenge Nic Nemeth for the Total Nonstop Action Wrestling World Championship at Bound for Glory, the promotion's flagship annual pay-per-view. A victory would make the British wrestler the youngest TNA world champion in history at the age of 22.
Slater, who joined TNA in 2023, has established himself as a rapid riser within the company. He captured the X Division Championship in May 2025 and later regained the title at Slammiversary by defeating Cedric Alexander in a Last Man Standing match inside a steel cage. Although Alexander interrupted what could have been a record-setting reign, Slater held the belt for only a few hours before addressing Nemeth on the same night.
During that address, Slater announced his intention to exercise "Option C," a provision that allowed him to surrender his X Division Championship in exchange for a world title opportunity. This decision set up the main event match for Bound for Glory. On Thursday's episode of "Impact," Slater directed his remarks at Nemeth, noting that a stipulation set by Director of Authority Santino Marella, which forbids the competitors from touching before the match, protects Nemeth rather than Slater. Slater claimed that when he defeats Nemeth at Bound for Glory, the champion will understand why he is known as "The Youngest In Charge."
Nemeth currently holds the world title during his second reign. He won the belt from Mike Santana at Slammiversary after qualifying through the Call Your Shot Gauntlet. That same gauntlet match is also scheduled to take place at Bound for Glory, with the winner guaranteed a future world title shot. Nemeth now faces Slater as a potential spoiler in his defense.
The event is scheduled for Sunday at the Yuengling Center in Tampa, Florida. The card begins at 4:30 p.m. ET and will be available to watch on TNA+.
