Microsoft has rolled out a la carte Cloud Playtime purchases to Xbox Insiders, a feature the company previewed in September following restrictions to Game Pass streaming access. The update allows non-subscribers to buy cloud playtime hours through the Xbox Store to stream eligible games they already own on supported devices.
The service introduces "introductory launch pricing" with three available tiers. Players can purchase 10 hours for $4, which equates to approximately $0.40 per hour. A 25-hour pack costs $8, or about $0.32 per hour, while the largest option offers 50 hours for $12, averaging roughly $0.24 per hour.
According to Microsoft, purchased playtime remains available until it is used, meaning the hours do not expire before they can be fully consumed. This rollout follows earlier announcements that non-subscribers would gain the ability to purchase cloud playtime hours directly from the Xbox Store.
