Dale Caldwell, the former lieutenant governor of New Jersey, has claimed that multiple AI agents support his assertion of innocence regarding sexual harassment allegations. Caldwell was forced to resign on September 25 after an investigation determined he had sexually harassed a staffer and repeatedly violated ethics rules.

During an interview with host Rob Nelson on NJ PBS, Caldwell described a method he used to challenge the findings of the investigation. He stated that he processed the report on the investigation through "multiple AI platforms." Caldwell told Nelson that he asked the systems, "What would your findings be?" and reported that one instance responded affirmatively to his innocence 59 times.

The former lieutenant governor characterized his situation as being unfairly targeted while using these automated responses to bolster his public defense. The incident highlights an unusual tactic in political communications, relying on the output of artificial intelligence tools rather than traditional legal or procedural appeals to refute the results of a formal inquiry.
