The New York Police Department is searching for Angel Carrasco, 31, after Nathaly Ramirez, 23, and her 8-month-old daughter were found dead and critically injured, respectively, following a fall from a 15th-floor balcony in the Bronx. Police stated that further investigation determined both individuals had been pushed from the balcony in a suspected domestic violence incident. Ramirez was pronounced dead at a hospital after being transported in critical condition, while her infant daughter remains in critical condition at a hospital. Officers responded to a 911 call at approximately 3:38 a.m. on Tuesday outside 2550 Olinville Ave., where they discovered the pair with injuries consistent with a fall from an elevated position. The NYPD released an image of Carrasco in a Wednesday update but did not specify his relationship to Ramirez or announce any charges in the statement. FOX 5 NY reported that investigators are looking for Ramirez’s boyfriend or recent ex-boyfriend. Sources told the outlet that the couple had a history of domestic violence and that police had been called to the apartment multiple times. A neighbor living two doors down told FOX 5 that she had heard yelling from the apartment on numerous occasions. Another neighbor, identified as Mike, described an incident in January involving a man attempting to force entry into the apartment. Mike told ABC7 NY, "He was kicking the door down trying to get into the apartment." ABC7 NY reported that investigators believe Ramirez tightly embraced her daughter during the fall, likely cushioning the baby from the impact. Neighbors cited by FOX 5 said they heard Ramirez scream, "Please don’t do this!" moments before the incident. No arrests have been made, and the investigation remains ongoing.
