RoseBerry Media is recutting episodes of the Australian soap opera Neighbours into microdramas for distribution on Epis, a short-form vertical video streaming platform. Variety reported the development on Monday, noting that the clips will be available on the new service.
Although Neighbours aired for 41 seasons from 1985 to 2025, RoseBerry is initially recutting only two storylines from the late 2000s. These specific storylines focus on a character played by Margot Robbie, who has since become internationally famous. Guy Hameiri, cofounder and CEO of RoseBerry, described Neighbours in a statement as "an iconic piece of television history" that is well suited for adaptation into vertical viewing formats. Hameiri indicated that the company uses its proprietary technology to facilitate this format change.
