Six retired friends from Los Angeles are attending four professional and college football games in six days, a schedule that expanded from a planned Alabama-Georgia matchup to include Major League Baseball and two NFL contests. The group, identified as Gil, Falo, Joe, Mike, Rudy and Bernie, originally booked tickets for the SEC showdown at Bryant-Denny Stadium in Tuscaloosa three months prior. Their itinerary changed when they realized the Los Angeles Dodgers were playing the Atlanta Braves in the National League Division Series on the day they were scheduled to arrive in the region.

The group flew into Atlanta and purchased tickets to the baseball game before driving to Tuscaloosa. Falo stated that he organized the trip, which was conceived as a chance for the group to experience a major SEC game, such as Alabama against Georgia, after previously attending a USC game at Notre Dame and a Detroit Lions game in 2025. The friends are staying at a rental property on Lake Tuscaloosa for the weekend.

Their schedule continues with the Alabama-Georgia game on Saturday. On Sunday, the group plans to drive back to Atlanta to watch the Baltimore Ravens play the Atlanta Falcons. They will fly back to Los Angeles on Monday to attend the game between the Los Angeles Rams and the Buffalo Bills at SoFi Stadium. The group noted that they are all retired and have the time to pursue such an intensive travel schedule.

The trip coincides with the path of Hurricane Isaias in the Gulf of Mexico. The group stated they would play golf and pickleball on Thursday while waiting for the storm to pass before attending the football games. One member of the group, who identified as a diehard USC fan, expressed a goal of attending every SEC game in the South. The group also used artificial intelligence to create a tribute involving Mookie Betts for their trip. When asked what they were most looking forward to, the friends cited the crowd and atmosphere of the Alabama-Georgia game.
