The Tennessee Titans released defensive tackle Jordan Elliott on Tuesday, days after securing their first victory of the NFL season. The move follows a 26-20 win over the Indianapolis Colts in Week 6, which ended a start to the season that brought more lows than highs for the franchise.

In a statement, the team confirmed that an incident occurred at its facility on Thursday, Oct. 15. Following a review of the event, the organization decided to remove Elliott from its roster. The Titans cited an unspecified "incident" as the reason for the release and stated they would have no further comment on the matter. Details surrounding the specific events of that day were not immediately available.

Elliott joined the Titans after two seasons with the San Francisco 49ers, where he played under then-defensive coordinator Robert Saleh. He followed Saleh to Tennessee, where the former coordinator is now serving as head coach. During the current season, Elliott appeared in five games for the Titans, recording 11 total tackles.

The roster move comes as the team prepares to return to Nissan Stadium this week to host the Cleveland Browns, who currently lead the AFC North. The schedule shift follows a brief period of celebration in Nashville after the win over Indianapolis, a game that provided one of the team's rare bright spots in an otherwise difficult stretch.

Elsewhere on the roster, defensive back Alontae Taylor did not suit up for recent games due to a coach's decision. Saleh did not provide additional details regarding Taylor's status. Taylor had played nearly every defensive snap during the Titans' first five games of the season. He signed a three-year contract worth $58 million with Tennessee in March and had recorded 19 tackles and one sack through those initial matchups.
