Trent Reznor applied his production skills to four tracks on the self-titled debut album by Prick. This collaboration occurred while Reznor was recording The Downward Spiral. The project involved Reznor working with Kevin McMahon, a member of the new wave band Lucky Pierre. Reznor had previously served as a brief member of Lucky Pierre. Although Reznor is officially credited only for those four songs, his influence is evident throughout the record. McMahon’s theatrical style infuses the music with a glammy flamboyance comparable to T. Rex releases. The band embraces the theatricality of goth music in a manner that Nine Inch Nails did not. "Communiqué" opens the album. It is a fuzzy blast of simple punk riffs mixed with electro elements.
